Christina Wright is the proud owner of Sunflower Station Preschool.  Her commitment to education and child development is apparent as you walk into the preschool.  It has always been Christina's dream to touch the lives of children in such a unique way and build the right educational foundation that prepares children for their educational future.  Together, with her husband, she is finally reaching this dream.

Both Justin and Christina were born and raised in Huntsville where they attended Grissom High school.  They then went on to attend Auburn University, where Christina received a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies as well as Early Childhood Education.  Justin received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.  After graduation, they returned to Huntsville where Christina continued her education by receiving a Child Development Assistant degree and the equivalent of a Business minor from UAH.

Christina decided to pursue teaching for a few years, until it was the right time for her to reach for something more.  She taught 2nd grade at Blossomwood Elementary for two years.  While there, she was able to develop an understanding of what children need in order to be successful in elementary school.  The knowledge and experience she gained from teaching were invaluable to Christina reaching her dream of building and developing childrens' futures in a preschool.

Christina left Blossomwood to become the Director of Sunflower Station Preschool, where she learned and developed the skills to run a business before becoming the official owner.  Justin and Christina now spend a great deal of time working on the preschool to continually improve and remain the highest quality childcare facility in the city of Huntsville.

When not at the preschool, they enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to football games, and spending time at the lake.

Hiring policies require all staff members be fingerprinted and criminally cleared through the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and Federal Bureau of Investigation.  These fingerprints remain on permanent file.  Each staff member is required before employment begins to have on file in our office the following documents:

*Current copy of a valid Driver's license
*A formal copy of social security number
*Mandatory Criminal History Check Notice clearing prospective employees of any criminal history or child abuse and neglect charges
*Positive Suitability Determination letter from the ABI and FBI
*Three positive references forms
*Written verification of education
*Medical report signed by a doctor clearing prospective employee for employment

Christina and her entire staff have been provided with a positive Suitability Determination Letter from the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

In addition to background checks and personal history that the state and federal government supplies us with on each employee, it is our personal policy to hire the very best teachers available.  We look for extensive experience, character, education, integrity, past employment history and above all, a true love for children.

Sunflower Station Preschool is licensed to operate through the Alabama Department of Human Resources and City of Huntsville.

Compliance and evaluation checks are done annually by the Alabama Department of Human Resources to ensure Sunflower Station Preschool is meeting or exceeding all State laws and requirements.  This compliance and evaluation report hangs on our lobby bulletin board for your review.
